Merchant's Lane

Merchant's Lane is known as one of the famous cafes in KL, with lines of queue waiting to just be seated. With good reason too. One of the highly recommended dishes from Merchant's Lane is their Hongkie Beef Stew. Made in Cantonese style, it's slow-cooked for 12 hours, making the beef tender and well-braised.

Gyuniku Signature @ TTDI

The term gyuniku in this establishment should give a clear idea that their specialty is everything beef. While what is served is different from typical beef stew, their beef soup is just a whack on the tongue (the good kind). It simply has that sweet, savory taste with a thick consistency. The beef is braised in the broth long enough that a gentle bite rips the meat off the bones.

Malones Irish Restaurant @ Pavilion KL

Malones has been around for some time and it's a well-known Irish place to dine in. Their Guinness Beef Stew is not only unique but also tasty. The first sip of the stew would give you the aftertaste of Guinness marinade. And the first bite would show you just how tender and soft the meat is from all the slow cooking.

Wildflowers

Wildflowers is really one of the more impressive places to be when you want a Western mixed Eastern food. Their Stewed Beef Brisket Bourguignon is cooked with Shao Xing wine (Chinese cooking wine). They're perfectly balanced with the wine bringing out the flavour of the meat. Topped with truffle oil, and paired with Hainanese bread, this is such a treat!
